Collection Types
When creating a new NFT collection, the first decision you make is choosing the collection type. Each type determines how your NFT artwork is created, how supply works, and what creation tools are available to you.
Available Types
Section titled “Available Types”| Type | How Artwork Works | Supply | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Generative | Layers are combined randomly | 100 - 10,000 | PFP collections with traits |
| 1:1 | Each image is a unique NFT | Determined by uploads (min 10) | Curated art collections |
| AI Generated | AI creates variations from a base image | 100 - 10,000 | Quick launches, meme collections |
Generative Collections
Section titled “Generative Collections”Generative collections use a layer-based system. You create layers (e.g., Background, Body, Head, Eyes, Accessory) and upload multiple images to each layer. The platform then randomly combines one asset from each layer to produce unique NFTs.
How it works:
- Create layers with names like “Background”, “Body”, “Outfit”
- Upload multiple images to each layer
- Set rarity weights per image (higher weight = appears more often)
- The platform generates unique combinations from your layers
Key details:
- Assets can repeat across the collection (a “Blue Background” might appear on many NFTs)
- Layer order matters — layers are composed on top of each other
- You control the rarity of each asset within a layer
- Supply range: 100 to 10,000
See Generative Collections for the full creation guide.
1:1 Collections
Section titled “1:1 Collections”In a 1:1 collection, each uploaded image becomes exactly one NFT. No randomization, no layers — each piece is unique and hand-selected by you.
How it works:
- Upload your individual NFT images
- Reorder them as needed (drag and drop)
- Each image maps to one NFT in the collection
Key details:
- Supply is determined by the number of images you upload
- Minimum supply: 10 images
- Each asset is used exactly once — no duplicates
- You have full control over every NFT in the collection
Best for curated collections where each piece is distinct, like 1-of-1 art drops or hand-crafted generative pieces.
See 1:1 Collections for the full creation guide.
AI Generated Collections
Section titled “AI Generated Collections”AI Generated collections let you create unique NFT artwork using artificial intelligence. You upload a base image, define traits, and the AI produces variations.
How it works:
- Upload a base image (or use your collection logo)
- Define trait categories (Skin, Outfit, Eyes, Hat, etc.) and how many variations per trait
- The AI generates trait ideas — you review and edit them
- Choose a generation mode: PFP (strict composition) or One-of-One (artistic freedom)
- Generate NFTs in batches, preview results, regenerate as needed
Key details:
- Cost: approximately 0.1 SOL per NFT image (varies based on AI processing)
- You can clean/strip the base image before generation
- Real-time progress — images appear as they’re generated
- Delete and regenerate individual images if you’re not satisfied
- Supply range: 100 to 10,000
See AI Generated Collections for the full creation guide.
Shared Settings
Section titled “Shared Settings”Regardless of type, all collections share these configuration options:
Pre-Order Mode
Section titled “Pre-Order Mode”Enable pre-orders to let users buy passes before your collection launches. When enabled, you configure a token ticker, token name, and pre-order duration (1-7 days). See Pre-Orders.
Reveal Type (Non Pre-Order)
Section titled “Reveal Type (Non Pre-Order)”- Instant — NFT artwork is revealed immediately when minted
- Mint Out — All NFTs show a placeholder until every NFT in the collection is minted, then all reveal simultaneously
Fee Tiers (Non Pre-Order)
Section titled “Fee Tiers (Non Pre-Order)”| Royalty Fee | Royalty Percentage |
|---|---|
| Free | 3% |
| 0.01 SOL | 1.5% |
| 0.1 SOL | 0.1% |
For pre-order collections, the royalty is fixed at 3%.
