Transferring & Burning
Transferring NFTs
Section titled “Transferring NFTs”Send an NFT directly to another Solana wallet address. This is a peer-to-peer transfer — no marketplace, no payment, no fees beyond gas.
How to Transfer
Section titled “How to Transfer”- Navigate to your NFT (Account → NFTs tab)
- Select Transfer from the action menu
- Enter the recipient’s Solana wallet address
- Confirm the transaction
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- You must own the NFT
- The NFT must be unlisted (delist first if it’s for sale)
- You need enough SOL for the transaction fee
Burning NFTs
Section titled “Burning NFTs”Burning permanently destroys an NFT, removing it from the blockchain forever. It cannot be undone.
How to Burn
Section titled “How to Burn”- Navigate to your NFT
- Select Burn from the action menu
- Confirm the burn
What Happens When You Burn
Section titled “What Happens When You Burn”- The NFT is permanently destroyed
- Any tokens locked inside are released back to your wallet
- The collection’s circulating supply decreases
- The burn is recorded on-chain
Why Burn?
Section titled “Why Burn?”- Retrieve locked tokens — burning releases all tokens bound to the NFT
- Reduce supply — fewer NFTs can increase scarcity and floor price
- Collection mechanics — some projects use burning as a game mechanic
Before You Can Transfer or Burn
Section titled “Before You Can Transfer or Burn”If your NFT is currently listed on the marketplace, you must delist it first. Listed NFTs are locked and can’t be transferred or burned.
