Generative Collections

Generative collections produce unique NFTs by randomly combining assets from multiple layers. Think of it as stacking transparent images: a background layer, a body layer, a head layer, accessories, and so on. Each NFT gets a random combination, making every piece unique.

Enter a name for your collection. This is the display name users will see in the Binder Explorer and on the collection page.

Choose Generative as your collection type.

Enter the total number of NFTs for your collection.

  • Minimum: 100
  • Maximum: 10,000
  • Must be a whole number

Step 4: Configure Pre-Order or Token Binding

Section titled “Step 4: Configure Pre-Order or Token Binding”

You have two paths here:

With Pre-Order enabled:

  • Enter a Token Ticker (max 10 characters)
  • Enter a Token Name (max 32 characters)
  • Choose a Pre-Order Duration: 1 to 7 days
  • Optionally configure Vesting Mechanics

Without Pre-Order:

  • Enter the Contract Address of an existing Solana token
  • The platform auto-fetches the token name, symbol, image, and DEX info
  • Set Tokens Bound Per NFT — how many tokens are locked inside each NFT (enter as token amount or USD equivalent)
  • Choose a Reveal Type: Instant or Mint Out

Step 5: Fee Selection (Non Pre-Order Only)

Section titled “Step 5: Fee Selection (Non Pre-Order Only)”

Choose your royalty tier:

  • Free — 3% royalty
  • 0.01 SOL — 1.5% royalty
  • 0.1 SOL — 0.1% royalty

Add your website URL and Twitter/X URL.

The right panel shows a live preview of your collection card and a summary of all settings. On mobile, switch to the “Summary” tab to see this.

Click Create Collection. The button is disabled until all required fields are complete. A tooltip checklist shows what’s still needed.

After creating the collection, you enter the Settings View. The Layer tab is where you build your generative artwork.

  1. Click to add a new layer
  2. Name it (e.g., “Background”, “Body”, “Head”, “Eyes”, “Hat”)
  3. Upload images to the layer — each image is one possible asset for that position

Layers stack on top of each other. The first layer is the bottom (usually background), and each subsequent layer renders on top. Drag to reorder.

Each image within a layer has a rarity weight that controls how often it appears:

  • Higher weight = appears in more NFTs
  • Lower weight = rarer trait
  • Default weight is equal across all assets
  • Reorder layers by dragging
  • Rename layers at any time
  • Delete layers or individual files within them
  • Upload more images to existing layers

Once your layers are set up, head to the Collection tab to review final settings, then click Launch Collection in the header. You’ll need to hold $100+ worth of Binder Token in your wallet to proceed.

After launch, your collection status moves through: In Queue → Generating → Binding (or the pre-order flow if enabled).
